Meet the District Governor

Greg Owen

Rotary Club of Long Beach

Greg Owen is the founder and Head Coach of Tri-Modal Distribution Services, Inc., a Southern California trucking, warehousing and global logistics management company, providing retail shippers throughout the United States full service solutions to their goods movement. Greg and his son Josh, the company’s President, work together with an extremely young and talented management team that promotes the Four Way Test and Service Above Self in their daily business lives.

Greg, like his father before him, has been and continues to be extremely active in industry affairs. He was a Past President and Chairman of the Board of the California Trucking Association, is a past Chairman of the Agriculture Food and Transporters Conference and has served as Truck Pack Chairman, Executive Committee and Board of Directors member of the American Trucking Associations.

Joining the Rotary Club of Long Beach in 1978, he served on several past president’s boards at various levels and was the club’s president in 1991-92. Having served district 5320 as an Assistant Governor multiple times, Greg was told he had to move on and Past District Governor John Brainerd made him one of his Executive Assistants in 2007-2008. He has served several years on the District Foundation Committee, is a Paul Harris Society member and major donor to The Rotary Foundation. Greg and his wife Valerie participated in a NID (PolioPlus National Immunization Day) in Caborcca, Mexico. He has served on his club’s Rotaract committee and is excited to see the success of Rotaract at CSULB.

Rotary has played a big part in the development and success of Greg’s family business and continues to play a big part in his life. Travel will also be a big part of his life in the next several years, as he and Val are members of the Yachting, Wine and Fishing International fellowships. They look forward to enjoying the company of Rotarians and their spouses throughout the Rotary world. Greg and Val have attended Rotary International conventions in Mexico, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and Los Angeles and are looking forward to New Orleans in the future.

Greg and Val have lived in Long Beach for most of their married lives. Greg was born and raised in Long Beach. Together they have two grown children and four grandchildren (life’s reward for having children).
